Overall rating: Not good enough

Our ratings are based on a scale from 1 (We avoid) to 5 (Great)

Our “Planet rating evaluates brands based on the environmental policies in their supply chains, from carbon emissions to wastewater, ingredients' impacts, product circularity, and more. Here we rate Adopt “Not Good Enough. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • It uses some lower-impact ingredients including organic and upcycled ingredients, but it does not publish an aggregate breakdown of ingredients used.
  • It uses renewable energy in its direct operations (such as stores or offices) but not in its supply chain.
  • There’s no evidence it’s taking meaningful action to reduce water use.
  • It could be using palm oil, but it has not disclosed any information regarding responsible sourcing that mitigates environmental impacts.
  • There’s no evidence it’s taking actions to protect biodiversity in its supply chain.

Workers rights are central to our “People rating, which assesses brands policies and practices on everything from child labour to living wages and gender equality. Here we rate Adopt “Not Good Enough. These are a few factors influencing its score:

  • Most of its final production stage happens in France, a medium country for labour abuse.
  • It traces some of its suppliers.
  • Its Code of Conduct covers ILO Four Fundamental Freedoms principles.
  • It audits some of its suppliers but does not specify what proportion.
  • There’s no evidence it ensures workers are paid living wages in its supply chain.

Note that the "People" rating in Good On You’s methodology is defined by labour rights and does not consider consumer health.

Brands animal welfare policies and, where applicable, how well they trace their animal-derived products, are the focus of our “Animals rating. Here we rate Adopt “Very Poor.

  • It doesn’t clearly state what animal-derived ingredients it uses.
  • It does not have a certification, policy, or statement against the use of animal testing in its supply chains.
  • It has not made any public commitments to eliminate animal-derived ingredients.

Based on all the publicly available information we’ve reviewed, we rate Adopt “Not Good Enough overall.
